Midnight Rooms: A Review

336 pages, Kindle Edition

5/5 Stars

It's no secret that I love gothic horror and when I saw Midnight Rooms being compared to Crimson Peak, I knew I had to get my hands on a copy.

The book starts with our protagonist Orabella getting a sudden proposal by a man she had never met before. He quite literally sweeps her off her feet, giving her only a day to decide if she wants to marry him and follow him to his sprawling family manor. Being already twenty-eight years old and miserable at her uncle and aunt's house, Orabella decides to say yes and takes a leap of faith. But the manor she finds herself at is falling to pieces and her new family is strange. Very strange indeed.

I absolutely adored this book. It was mysterious and written like a foggy dream that kept me intrigued until the last page. I wasn't sure what was haunting the halls of Korringhill Manor, but at times I felt like it was me- the reader.
